LG Watch Sport review: The right smartwatch for the wrong audience

Google and LG set out to build a pair of watches to launch Android Wear 2.0. What resulted were two wildly divergent products that make no attempt to hit the middle ground. Richard reviewed the Watch Style, which features a lithe frame but includes fewer features than almost any Wear-based smartwatch that came before it. I'm looking at the Watch Sport, an unapologetically huge device with a wide array of capabilities that allow it to be a serviceable stand-in when you leave your phone behind. LG held nothing back with this watch, but it's not right for everyone.

Foursquare City Guide comes to Android Wear 2.0

Android Wear 2.0 is sure getting a lot of support from developers. Maybe it's the fact that the old way of installing apps on the watch (by bundling the small watch's APK file with the main phone app's APK) won't work with Wear 2.0. Maybe it's the long developer preview period that gave teams and individuals the time to update their apps. And maybe it's Google incentivizing everyone to get their apps on Wear 2.0. Who knows?! The end result is that a lot of apps over the past couple of weeks have been updated to work with Android Wear 2.0.

The latest app to join the fold is Foursquare City Guide.

Audiobooks.com app update adds Android Wear 2.0 support

Of all the stock smartwatch frames to use, Audiobooks... of all the stock frames! They had to pick the Samsung Galaxy Gear, a discontinued smartwatch that runs Tizen OS and has nothing to do with Android Wear 2.0. A Samsung Gear Live would have been slightly better, because even if it's never getting Android Wear 2.0, at least it runs Android Wear so it's in the same... Galaxy. But let's not let the mistake of the graphics and marketing team at Audiobooks.com take away the spotlight from the prowess of their developer team.

The latter has updated the Android app to be fully compatible with Android Wear 2.0, less than 10 days after the platform's official release.

[Update: Regular users too] T-Mobile rolling out official Nougat update to Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, starting with current beta users

Cameras and displays are areas in which Samsung Mobile traditionally excels; quick updates aren't one of them. However, with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge's Galaxy Beta Program, the South Korean company proved that it was willing to change that. Now, following a global rollout of a similar caliber, T-Mobile is rolling the official Android 7.0 Nougat update out to Galaxy S7 edge devices that were already running Nougat beta software. Given that the S7 edge is receiving it, it's fair to assume that the S7 also is, or at the very least, will be shortly.

ChronoSpin is a game for Android Wear that looks like a watch face

Games on Android Wear are, for the most part, terrible. Oh, that hasn't stopped developers from trying. You can usually kill time better by simply playing a game on your phone, though. ChronoSpin is a new game for Android Wear that might actually be worth playing. It tells the time (because watch), but it's actually a simple arcade game.
